Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
What does cash-based therapy mean?
Cash-based means that we are out-of-network with all insurance companies and do not directly bill though insurance providers. Patients pay directly each visit for their 1-on-1 personalized therapy session(s). This allows for all focus on the individual patient and their specific needs and goals without the dictation of insurance rules/regulations.
DeBarbrie Sports Therapy & Performance does not accept insurance at all?
No, we do not directly accept health insurance and are considered an out-of-network provider. At the end of each visit the patient will pay for the session.
Why cash based therapy?
Insurance companies in the US are frequently cutting reimbursement rates for rehabilitation services and dictating how clinicians provide therapy to patients. With this decline in reimbursement, many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients in an hour, lowering standard of care practices. These clinics rotate patients in, use assistants and technicians to complete the treatments leading to no individualized care they need or deserve. Patients are led to complete their own treatments with no supervision of a trained professional. With a cash-based practice, we can dictate how therapy is performed and not regulated by insurance companies, allowing for 1-on-1 care for patients through the entirety of their session with the same therapist every single time
Does cash-based mean I can only pay cash?
Patients are able to pay with cash, check, or Venmo at this time.
